truly has an unparalleled gift...
Until three years ago, I mostly patronized barber shops for
my haircuts. While the end result was satisfactory,
within a very short period of time my hair would grow in
looking very awkward. Consequently, I was getting a
haircut every two weeks to maintain style. Then I went
to Joseph Zell. Since my first appointment three years
ago, I have refused to let anyone else touch my hair.
I live almost three hours away, and unfortunately go several
months between appointments. My hair look
substantially better two months after visiting Joseph than
it did two weeks after an appointment with my previous
establishment; he truly has an unparalleled gift. I
would not wait several months for a haircut, or drive across
the state of North Carolina, for anyone other than Joseph
Zell.

Wonderful
Experience!
I was lucky enough to receive a gift
certificate to Joseph Zell and Company for Christmas (from a
friend and client of Joseph's). She told me how much
she loved Joseph, Eve and the entire staff and how she was
so happy with her hair since she had started going to the
salon. I had my appointment this past weekend, and I
must say, it was everything she said and more! Joseph,
Eve, Kenleigh, Chelsea and Dawn were so nice and welcoming.
They definitely understand that going to get your hair done,
even if it's just a quick cut, should be a relaxing and
enjoyable experience. I've been to quite a few salons
in town, and I have never felt like I was having a "spa
like" experience when just getting a haircut and color, but
that all changed after my appointment with Joseph.
And, my hair ... I LOVE IT!!! It looks great, feels
great, and I have already received several compliments.
I can't wait to go back for my next appointment, and hope
that I will have a chance to schedule a facial with Dawn!
Did I mention I LOVE MY HAIR?!?!?! Thanks Joseph!

Toes...
Just had my first pedicure with Janette and WOW! The
entire experience was so relaxing and the results are
amazing! Whenever my poor tootsies are in need of some
TLC, I will definitely be calling Janette for some "me
time". Can't wait for my next appointment!

"...the
woman in the chair"
I wanted you to know how much
everything you did for me really meant. I was feeling
very badly about how sick I had been and unenergetic as a
result of that. I also had lost a lot of hair due to a
medication I was prescribed to treat my illness, which is
fibromyalgia. I believe that people who have to learn
to live with pain are even more vulnerable. My hair,
as with most women, is a big deal and yet I had been
disappointed after hair appointments, many times coming home
and trying to "fix" the hair cut I had just received.
I don't think a lot of stylist realizes the extreme power
they have over the "woman in the chair" and the experience
that can result from not listening to what a woman is

The best
salon in Wilmington...
I set my busy life aside the
minute I walk into Joseph Zell and Company Salon. I
have been going for years. The staff are all wonderful
and make me feel completely pampered and cared for.
Best of all, stylist Chelsea Gillespie works her magic on my
wildly curly hair unlike any stylist I have ever visited.
I go with complete confidence that I will love the results
every time and that is why I keep coming back!

as a hairdresser for 10 years when I was younger...
I moved here from Houston 3 years ago and was really
worried about finding someone to cut and style my hair.
I was a hairdresser for about ten years when I was much
younger so I may be a little more critical than some.
Chelsea is the 2nd hair dresser I tried in Wilmington and
have been going to her ever since. Chelsea does a
fantastic job on my natural curly hair. She listens to
what I want and is great when I change my mind 2 weeks
later. I feel like she has a natural talent to
understand what someone wants as well as what style would
look best on them. I would give Chelsea 5 stars.
As for the salon, everyone
there is helpful, friendly and kind. It is always a
great experience. I look forward to going.

I started going to Joseph Zell and Company last year
because of a friends recommendation and haven't looked back
since! From the moment I walked in the door the first
time, the entire staff made me feel like I'd been going
there for years. The service is top notch and the head
massages alone would keep me coming back!

When you walk into Joseph Zell and Company the
atmosphere begins to relax you and the staff immediately
acknowledges your presence. You will leave one of two
ways: focused, full of energy or relaxed to the point that
you are ready to continue the feeling by going home and
calling it a day. I have had the pleasure of enjoying
cut and colors, facials, manicures and pedicures so I can
say that the difference with the experience is your decision

A true hair stylist
should be an artist first - hard to find...
I visited Joseph Zell and Company's salon while visiting
the beach. I am from Cary, N.C. and picked this salon
out of a phone book. When I first walked into the
salon, I was engrossed with the beautiful and elegant
surroundings and decor. It made me feel like I was in
New York City for a day!
Joseph, Eve, and the staff
introduced themselves to me and were very warm and friendly
putting me at ease. They could not have been more
welcoming.
The best part is I am happier
with my hair then I've been in years. The color is
beautiful. It is worth the drive. I recommend
this high caliber salon. A true hair stylist should be
an artist first --- hard to find. Joseph is an artist.

I admired her hair...
My experience with Joseph Zell & Company started around
five years ago as I met a lady and admired her hair.
As I asked where she had her hair done I was so hoping this
would be my answer. I phone immediately to the salon
and asked if I might come by for a consultation and was told
absolutely. Needless to say I have been there ever
since and feel like part of the family, not just a client.
This salon is beautiful and the staff is magnificent and I
know I will love my hair every single time I visit.

Feeling totally
blissful...

Charming Beauty Salon...
Joseph and Eve are great friends as well as having one
of the most charming beauty salons I have ever been to.
Their workers are extremely friendly and very helpful.
They all welcome me when I enter the salon and make me feel
good as well as giving me extremely good service in whatever

Close to tears...
Have you ever walked out of a salon, gotten in your car
and found yourself close to tears? Well, that was my
first experience at Joseph Zell's, but my tears were
tears of joy. Even though I've had my hair done by
some of the top stylists, my hair has always remained a
challenge until Joseph worked his magic. My hair, for
the first time, is stylish, sassy and easy to maintain.
Not only are you the best but your shop is the best looking
and friendliest around. Thanks to a great team!

VERY PLEASED...
I have been going to the Joseph Zell Salon for 11 years
and every time I walk out of there I am VERY pleased with my
hair and/or my skin. All of the staff, and the owners,
are very knowledgeable and up-to-date on styles, products,
and skin care, not to mention they are so personable and
friendly! You won't find another salon like this one
in Wilmington.

Wonderful Salon!
I absolutely love going to Joseph Zell Salon. The
entire staff is friendly and professional, and very

Heaven!
I receive a Day of Beauty once a month. I always
feel like a new woman when I leave. My skin refreshed,

Wonderful Experience!
I was surprised at how elegant the salon was, yet the staff
I met were all very friendly and accommodating. I met
the owners and was very impressed. The salon was
extremely clean and welcoming. I was offered coffee
and was made to feel very comfortable. I will
definitely book my next appointment at this salon!

Wonderful!!!!!!
My experience was nothing like ever before. The
staff there are incredible. You can see how well they
work together. I had a facial with Dawn Apple.
Oh so amazing, she is so knowledgeable and has taught me a
lot about my own skin. In regards of taking care of it
on a daily basis, she makes it low maintenance and easy.

Excellence!
I enjoyed my experience here tremendously. I was
treated with respect and TLC as I received the best haircut
I have ever had in an elegant environment (even tho' I was
dressed in shabby chic). I will be planning my future
